Name Breakdown
惠州 is the name of the prefecture-level city; 岩茶 means “rock, cliff tea”, a Wuyishan term for tea from the danxia cliffs. *Nanfang+* explains it with the saying “岩岩有茶，非岩不茶” — “on every rock there is tea, without rock it is not tea”.
