Cultural Significance
The project is presented as turning waste slopes into profitable gardens; the head of one of the companies (2025) calls Huizhou “the second rock tea area in China” — this is a self-assessment, not a recognized status.
Name Breakdown
惠州 is the name of the prefecture-level city; 岩茶 means “rock, cliff tea”, a Wuyishan term for tea from the danxia cliffs. *Nanfang+* explains it with the saying “岩岩有茶,非岩不茶” — “on every rock there is tea, without rock it is not tea”.
Chemistry
Chemical CompositionNo physicochemical data found in the sources consulted. The county media (2021) write that quality checks found no pesticide residues; the article does not give the test reports.
