Cultivar: Secondo il documento di protezione — 中黄一号 (*Zhōnghuáng yīhào*), 中黄二号 (*Zhōnghuáng èrhào*), 中黄三号 (*Zhōnghuáng sānhào*) e 黄金叶 (*huángjīnyè*). L'Amministrazione per la vigilanza del mercato attribuisce le gemme dorate alle cultivar mutanti a foglia gialla (黄化).

Cultural Significance: The city builds on this tea the brand of “the first county of golden buds in China” (中国黄金芽第一县). According to a 2024 publication, Guangde has three lines of famous teas — 广德云雾茶, 广德白茶 and the golden buds — and every year it holds a festival for the start of the harvest.
Name Breakdown: 广德 is the name of the city; 黄金 means “gold”, 芽 means “bud”. 黄金芽 is also known as the name of a light-leaf cultivar, but it is not on the list of cultivars in the protection document. The product name describes the appearance, not a single cultivar.
